CTF announces funding for School Community Projects
CTF’s bilingual Imagineaction programme helps teachers and their students to move beyond the increasingly standards based, test-driven education agenda set by statutory bodies, by providing opportunities to link curricula to community-based projects. These initiatives help students and teachers in English and French schools across the country that want to incorporate topics related to socially just citizenship in four ways: through funding subsidies, access to expertise, professional development, and showcase projects. Thousands of students and their teachers have already begun to make a difference through Imagineaction-supported projects which provide curriculum based, student-centered, authentic learning in real life situations. Teachers can apply for Imagineaction grants through the programme website. Once they have created a profile, they will be able to apply for funding. All projects registered with Imagineaction will receive recognition and access to material, human and cash resources. EI welcomes this initiative and encourages all Canadian colleagues to get involved in.
