Regional Committee urges European countries to protect African students fleeing conflict in Ukraine
The Education International Africa Regional Committee (EIARC), meeting online on the 9th and 10th March 2022, released a statement condemning discrimination against African students fleeing conflict in Ukraine.
In the statement, the EIARC, concerned about the racist discrimination faced by African students and other migrants fleeing attacks in Ukraine, expressed their profound solidarity with, and support for them as they are stuck in the Ukraine conflict and seeking refuge in neighbouring countries. The EIARC urged all countries to respect international law and support African migrants and all people fleeing war notwithstanding their racial identity or place of origin.
